stitched stone fiber art object - grove by Lisa Jordan #79-107

Lisa Jordan

A small grass green stone hosts circling stitches in oranges, blue, and green. A pale green stone bead sits like a seed at the center.  Approx. 1.25" x 1.5".

These fiber art objects, real stones encapsulated in wool by the wet-felting method, is home for thoughtful stitches. Each, a meditation of sorts, represents the colors, textures, and patterns of the oft-overlooked details in nature. The heft of the stone coupled with the texture of the wool makes this an art object that begs to be held.

Lisa Jordan is an artist working primarily in hand-dyed wool. She creates both wet and needle-felted pieces inspired by nature, occasionally incorporating wood and other mediums into her pieces. She teaches workshops in the greater Minnesota area and by day, is the Director of The Crossing Arts Alliance.
